Breaking Barriers: Wallis’s Path from Finance to Entrepreneurship and Back

My journey began in 2009 when I earned a place in HSBC’s prestigious Young Banker Program—an opportunity with an acceptance rate of just 0.2%. This rigorous experience shaped my early career, allowing me to rotate through strategic operations, sales, and product development, immersing myself in the complexities of the global financial industry.

Years later, life presented me with a different kind of challenge—within two years, I became a mother to two wonderful boys. But alongside nurturing them, I also gave life to my “third baby”—an e-commerce business that I built from the ground up. From zero to a thriving brand, I turned an idea into a fully operational business, ultimately cashing out successfully after just two years. I found immense fulfillment in the process of creating something from nothing—a passion that continues to drive me.

This entrepreneurial success led me to an unexpected opportunity: I was invited to join one of the world’s largest financial institutions to spearhead digital business innovation. With greater resources and a larger team, I was able to scale my leadership and execution skills, driving corporate innovation on a much bigger stage. Today, I continue to lead teams in the financial industry while staying deeply committed to helping ambitious women navigate their careers, master efficiency, and create a sustainable balance between work and life.
